Our Story

Welcome!

Los Gatos Foster Animals is committed to helping the cats and kittens in need in Genesee, Shiawasse, and Lapeer Counties. We provide safe foster homes for all of the cats and kittens that come into our care until they are able to find a permanent home. All of our animals are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped before being adopted.
Los Gatos Foster Animals also prides itself on educating our community about the importance of spay and neutering their pets, and the damages that declawing does to a cat.

Our Work

Los Gatos Foster Animals is a 501(c)3, volunteer, no-kill foster organization that is funded 100% by donations. We have no paid staff or board members; we rely solely upon our volunteers, giving their time, love, and homes to house the animals we care for until they find their forever homes. The furbabies do not leave our care until they are healthy, socialized, and spayed or neutered.

Rescue

We are dedicated to stepping up our rescue efforts, which is by no means an easy feat. But through cooperation, community involvement and community partnerships, we believe we can facilitate progress in this area.

Adoption

Most of our adoptions are hosted through PetSmart (4061 Miller Rd, Flint, MI). Our adoption events take place every weekend, Saturdays 12pm-5pm and Sundays 12pm-5pm, except certain major holidays.
The adoption fee for all of our kitties is $150. For this fee it includes: Vaccinations, Combo Testing, Microchipping, Health and Care Maintenance, and Spay or Neuter.

Foster

We are always looking to add more foster homes to our roster. For information on how to become a member of the Los Gatos family please reach out to us!

Cuddle and Clean

We partner with PetSmart for adoption events, but we also have cats that stay in "Kitty City" inside the store. Everyday one of our volunteers cleans out the cages and socializes with the kitties. This is still super helpful to the rescue but does not have the full commitment of being a foster. If you would like to become a part of the Los Gatos family please reach out!

PetSmart Charities

Without the help and support of PetSmart we would have a lot more trouble finding homes for our beloved animals.

Greater Good Charities

As a foster based rescue funds can be tight here and there. The lovely people at Greater Good Charities have a rescue bank that help rescues to continue taking care of animals in need.
